How to get repeat orders on Fiverr

Repeat orders are not a mood; they are a design. Fiverr gives you three order-level mechanisms for them: subscriptions that renew on a schedule, packages shaped around recurring scopes, and coupons that carry a past buyer back to checkout. Each has published rules worth knowing before you promise anything.

This guide covers those mechanics as Fiverr publishes them, including eligibility, renewal timing, and how discounts work, plus a repeat-scope example. It does not cover the message-by-message playbook for converting one client; that has its own guide.

Why repeat orders are worth designing for

A repeat order skips discovery. The buyer already knows how you work, how you communicate, and what the result looks like, so the trust that new buyers pay for with time is already in the account.

There is a platform effect too. Fiverr's Success Score article states that gigs with a higher number of orders carry more weight in the overall score, and that higher-value and more recent orders may have a greater impact on the gig score. Level criteria also count orders, unique clients, and earnings, so returning buyers contribute to more than revenue.

“Gigs with a higher number of orders carry more weight in the overall score. Additionally, higher-value and more recent orders may have a greater impact on the Gig score.”

Subscriptions: repeat built into the order

Fiverr subscriptions let clients book your service at set intervals, offered either inside a gig or through a custom offer. They are available in certain categories to sellers who meet Fiverr's eligibility criteria, and the levels table lists subscriptions as unlocked at Level 1 and above.

The gig version carries three numbers worth checking before you enable it: the gig must be priced at $10 or more, except Voiceover gigs which can offer subscriptions starting at $5; the maximum delivery time for a subscription gig is 30 days; and the recurring period is 3 or 6 months. Each order in the cycle is standalone, so the next one starts automatically even if the previous order is still in progress.

Discounts are optional and begin with the second order: Fiverr's published options are 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Cancellation timing is the trap, and Fiverr states it plainly: cancel at least 10 days before the renewal date so that your metrics are not affected.

Design packages around repeat scopes

A repeat scope is work that expires and comes back: a monthly report, a weekly post set, a quarterly refresh. If your packages only describe one-off projects, the buyer has to invent the recurring version, and most buyers will not do that work for you.

The design move is to make the repeating unit explicit. Worked example, hypothetical: a seller who designs landing pages adds a monthly package that delivers one new page section, a short performance read, and a small fix list. The unit is small, it renews naturally, and the buyer can see exactly what arrives each cycle.

Keep the boundary as sharp as the promise. State what one cycle includes and what falls outside it, so a renewal never becomes a negotiation, and price the cycle at a level you can deliver in a busy month rather than only in a quiet one.

  • Name the repeating unit: monthly, weekly, or per campaign
  • Price the cycle for your busiest month, not your emptiest
  • State what one cycle includes and what it excludes
  • Review the cycle length after two renewals, not after one

Coupons: the published re-engagement tool

Seller coupons are exclusive to Seller Plus members, and the repeat-client version fits this page's topic. Fiverr's eligibility rules require that the client completed an order with you within the past 12 months, left a 4 or 5-star rating, and does not already have an active coupon from you.

The mechanics shape your timing. A repeat-client coupon is valid for 30 days from the date you send it, can discount up to 30%, and cannot be applied to orders below $15. It is personal and single-use, and the discount comes out of your earnings: Fiverr states your revenue equals 80% of the post-discount order amount.

One 24-hour variant matters when a conversation is live: a coupon attached to a custom offer is valid for only 24 hours, and Fiverr describes it as the only way to send a coupon to a client who has never ordered from you before. That variant is about first orders; the 30-day repeat coupon is the one built for returning buyers.

  • Up to 30% off, personal to one client, one use only
  • Valid 30 days; custom-offer coupons last only 24 hours
  • Cannot be combined with other discounts; a canceled order forfeits it
  • The discount reduces your earnings, not Fiverr's fee

Timing the next cycle, not the next nag

Timing here is a mechanic, not a feeling. The coupon window is 30 days, subscription renewals are fixed by the cycle, and the cancellation buffer is 10 days. Fit the offer to those clocks rather than to your own hope that the buyer will remember you.

The natural moment to propose the next cycle is just after a delivery is accepted, when the work is fresh and the buyer's confidence is highest. The second natural moment is ahead of a seasonal peak in their business, which you can only know if you have been paying attention to their answers.

Worked example, hypothetical. A seller who delivers quarterly reports sends a repeat-client coupon in the first week of the quarter, so the 30-day window covers the buyer's budgeting conversation instead of landing after the money for that quarter is already allocated. The same coupon, sent a month later, arrives as an afterthought.

  1. Check the eligibility clock

12 months of history, 4 or 5 stars, no active coupon

  2. Set the discount you can afford

remember it comes from your 80% share

  3. Send so the 30-day coupon window covers the buyer's decision period

  4. Log the outcome

claimed, ignored, or waiting, so the next send is smarter

What repeat orders compound on your account

Repeat orders contribute to the measures Fiverr names. The published level criteria combine Success Score, rating, response rate, orders, unique clients, and earnings; returning buyers add orders and earnings, and a buyer who rates the second order adds to the rating pool that Level 1 sets at 4.4 and Level 2 at 4.6.

Two honest notes keep this grounded. Fiverr states that the Success Score does not decrease simply due to inactivity or lack of new orders, so a quiet stretch is not a punishment you must outrun. And unresponsive clients do not negatively impact the score, because the leveling system accounts for those scenarios.

The practical read: build repeat structures for the margin and stability they create, and let the account effects follow. Chasing the metrics directly is how sellers end up discounting work they should have priced correctly in the first place.

Repeat-order mistakes that cost money

The first mistake is treating a subscription as found money. The orders recur automatically, so your delivery calendar fills on a schedule you set months earlier; a cycle priced during a slow month can crush you during a busy one.

The second is discounting by reflex. A coupon spends your own margin, so it should buy something specific: a decision, a season, a restart after silence. The third is cancelling a subscription late and letting the timing affect your metrics when the client had already gone quiet.

The fourth is assuming a happy buyer will return on their own. These mechanics exist precisely because most buyers do not; the structure you set up, not the sentiment you feel, is what turns a single order into a series.

Where Seller OS helps

Repeat business is easier when the history is visible. Seller OS keeps local client records with notes and order history, so a renewal conversation starts from what was delivered and what was promised, not from a search through old threads. Re-engagement drafts use that record to write to a dormant buyer.

For the money side, package pricing review works with guardrails: profit assumptions and a record of recently applied prices sit beside the subscription or package you are about to build, so a repeat discount does not quietly erase the margin. Every draft and proposal stops at your review; nothing renews, sends, or publishes itself.

How to Get Repeat Orders on Fiverr questions

How do Fiverr subscriptions work for sellers?

Clients book your service at set intervals, inside a gig or through a custom offer, in certain categories that meet Fiverr's eligibility criteria. Gig subscriptions require a price of at least $10, run for 3 or 6 months, cap delivery at 30 days, and each cycle order is standalone. Cancel at least 10 days before renewal to protect your metrics.

Can I discount a repeat order?

Yes, within published limits. Subscription gigs can offer an optional 5, 10, 15, or 20 percent discount starting with the second order, and Seller Plus coupons can take up to 30 percent off for eligible past clients. Remember that the discount comes out of your earnings, not Fiverr's fee.

When should I cancel a Fiverr subscription?

Only when the service genuinely needs to stop, and never inside the last 10 days before a renewal date. Fiverr says cancelling at least 10 days ahead keeps your metrics unaffected, while cancelling an order that has already started affects them. If a client wants to pause, explain that timing before you click cancel.

Do repeat orders help my Fiverr ranking?

Fiverr does not publish a ranking formula, so no one can promise that. What Fiverr does say is that gigs with more orders carry more weight in the Success Score, and that level criteria count orders, unique clients, and earnings. Repeat orders contribute to those measures honestly, alongside the stability they create for your schedule.
