Fiverr Personal Assistant discontinued: what changes on October 1, 2026

Fiverr's AI Personal Assistant (PA) shuts down for everyone on October 1, 2026. It stopped accepting new subscribers on September 1 and is removed automatically, so there is nothing to cancel. New inquiries will come directly to you, existing conversations stay in your inbox, and your other Seller Plus benefits continue. The part worth preparing for is the first reply: the assistant answered new buyers in your name, and those replies counted toward your response rate. Here is what changes, what does not, and the routine that replaces it.

What the assistant did, and what replaces it.

Is the Fiverr Personal Assistant being discontinued?

Yes. The Personal Assistant was the seller-side AI tool that replied to new buyer inquiries, gathered requirements, and handed complex requests to the seller. Fiverr's help center says it closed to new subscribers on September 1, 2026, and shuts down for everyone, existing subscribers included, on October 1, 2026.

No action is needed: it is removed automatically, new inquiries arrive as messages you answer yourself, existing conversations stay, and the rest of your Seller Plus perks are unaffected.

What Fiverr said

Fiverr's reason is a deliberate move toward direct contact. The help center states it plainly:

“As Fiverr continues to move upmarket and support more complex, high-value projects, we're prioritizing direct, personal communication between freelancers and clients. As part of this shift, Personal Assistant is being discontinued.”

— Fiverr Help Center, “Personal Assistant for freelancers,” September 2026

The email sellers received in early September says the same: buyers on complex projects value talking to the freelancer from the first message. Fiverr's second-quarter 2026 results, published July 29, 2026, name “AI-related demand and traffic headwinds” and guide to $356–372 million for the year, down 17%–14%; its first-quarter 2026 results reported 2.9 million active buyers, down from 3.5 million a year earlier, with annual spend per buyer up to $356 from $309.

Read it as a change in where Fiverr puts AI, not a retreat from it. The seller-side first-contact layer goes away; buyer-side matching, including Mira, stays.

What changes on October 1, 2026

The daily difference is mostly the first reply.

Two rows matter most. Response rate, because the assistant could answer instantly; auto-replies, because the assistant switched them off while active and they return on October 1.

The help center also notes the assistant learned from your profile, gigs, and up to 12 months or 1,000 past interactions, and its analytics stayed empty until at least 15 conversations. None of that is a live reply path once the feature is removed.

The real risk: your response rate

Fiverr's help center says assistant replies counted positively toward your response rate, so an assistant set to Always on protected that number even while you slept. After October 1, the clock stops when you reply.

A dropped rate costs orders before you ever see them: buyers usually have three similar gigs open, and the fastest specific answer often wins. The trap is reading without replying — the thread looks handled, the notification disappears, and the buyer is still waiting.

A holding reply is enough: “Thanks for the details. I am checking your files now and will confirm scope and timing by tomorrow morning.” Two sentences stop the clock and keep the buyer from opening a competitor's gig. The response rate guide covers the full inbox routine.

What to do before October 1

An afternoon of setup is enough. Work through this in order:

  • Re-check your auto-reply settings. The assistant disabled them while active, and whatever is configured now applies again on October 1.
  • Save what the knowledge base taught it. Scope notes, pricing stance, and do's and don'ts lived in the hub and go away with it.
  • Write three first-reply templates: a scope question, a timing confirmation, and a holding reply.
  • Pick two inbox passes, one at the start of your working block and one before you stop, with a quick scan between for new buyer messages.
  • Leave repeat clients alone. The assistant handled new potential clients only, so threads you already own never depended on it.
  • Check notifications on both devices. The mobile app only toggled the assistant; from October 1 it is simply your inbox.

None of this is an instant auto-reply, and it is not meant to be. A fast human first reply is what Fiverr is putting in front of buyers, so make it a habit now.

What replaces the Personal Assistant

Three options, and only one of them can protect the response rate on its own:

  • A manual routine. Two inbox passes, three templates, and a holding reply for anything you cannot answer immediately. Free, and the baseline every other option supports.
  • AI drafting with a human gate. A tool summarizes the thread and drafts a reply in your voice, then waits for you to edit and send. The closest realistic replacement for the assistant's speed.
  • Auto-reply tools outside Fiverr. They cannot send through Fiverr's inbox or restore the retired feature, and a generic auto-reply reads worse than a human answer.

One honest limit: Fiverr's assistant answered buyers automatically, and no extension can do that inside Fiverr's inbox, including Seller OS. What an extension can remove is the blank-page problem that makes first replies slow.

Where Seller OS helps

The inbox assistant reads the conversation, summarizes what the buyer wants, and drafts a first reply that matches your tone; you edit it and press Send. The brief panel drafts answers to new briefs, and Pro monitors can flag unread buyer messages while Chrome is open so a first message does not sit until tomorrow. The time management guide covers the routine.

Nothing sends automatically, and that is the design: Fiverr counted the assistant's replies, and from October 1 it counts yours. See what else the extension handles on the seller tools page, or compare it with Fiverr's own subscription on the Seller Plus alternative page.

Fiverr Personal Assistant questions

When is the Fiverr Personal Assistant shutting down?

Fiverr closed the Personal Assistant to new subscribers on September 1, 2026, and shuts it down for everyone, including existing subscribers, on October 1, 2026. It is removed automatically on that date.

Do I need to cancel the Personal Assistant?

No. Fiverr removes it automatically on October 1, 2026, so there is nothing to cancel. If you paid for it as a stand-alone subscription, the charge stops with the feature, and your other Seller Plus benefits continue as before.

Will my Fiverr response rate drop without the Personal Assistant?

It can, if you relied on the assistant to answer first messages instantly. Fiverr's help center says assistant replies counted positively toward the response rate, so after October 1 the rate depends on how quickly you answer. A short holding reply stops the clock while you work out the full answer.

Does this mean Fiverr is removing AI from the marketplace?

No. The Personal Assistant was a seller-side first-contact tool. Fiverr's buyer-side products, including Mira, remain, and the company's stated reason for the change is prioritizing direct communication for higher-value projects.

Answer your own first message, without starting from a blank page.

Summaries and drafts sit beside every conversation, and Pro monitors flag unread buyer messages while Chrome is open.
